On the morning of June 3, 2017, my family and I received news about a terrorist attack on the London Bridge. My brother was studying in the United Kingdom at that time and would pass by that area every day, so we quickly checked our messages to see if he was all right.

When he did not reply our messages, I grew worried. However, I decided to put my mind at rest and remembered Psalm 91:4—“He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”

I also remembered Pastor Prince’s book The Prayer of Protection. In it, he said that the shield and buckler in Psalm 91:4 are used to protect against big and small attacks. I began declaring to the Lord that His faithfulness was my brother’s shield and buckler. I also confessed that He was bigger than the mountain of worry we were facing.

With faith as small as a mustard seed, we decided to ease our minds by leaning on Abba’s unfailing Word. Later that day, we found out on Facebook that my brother was safe and sound. He and his friends were driving on the other end of the London Bridge just minutes before the attack.

Our heavenly Father had placed him at the right place at the right time—safe and away from danger. My brother’s alive today because of God’s loving eye of protection on him! Praise the Lord! He is always faithful to rescue those who call upon Him!
