For 17 years, I was addicted to alcohol and pornography and struggled with lust, anger, and violence. I also often broke the law. Yet, in a short period of time after saying a simple prayer, all my addictions disappeared just like that, and I was confused about how it happened so easily. It even took me a while to realize that I was delivered from all addictions.

Because of this, I started going to different churches. I tried so hard to find an explanation for the change that had happened to me, but I did not hear any messages that answered my question.

However, I saw a video at a group prayer meeting where Pastor Joseph Prince was sharing a message about wholeness through the Holy Communion. I began watching his other messages and soon, I discovered the gospel of Jesus Christ and everything started to make sense. It was like all the pieces of the puzzle that I was trying to solve came together.

Before learning about God’s grace, I remember praying to God to get me out of my addictions and bad habits. This is what I prayed: “I know what I’m doing is wrong, God, please help me to stop all my evil habits and make me a good man, husband, and father.”

I now realize that God heard my prayer and now I live a completely free life above all addictions and bondages. I love Jesus more than ever before.

By the grace of God, I love my wife and son, and we have a blessed life, and I’ve begun to experience the fruit of the Spirit. God is blessing my family and my finances, and has protected me from the enemy. Now that I’m relying on Jesus’ obedience and understand that His righteousness has become my righteousness, I have victory. I’m also empowered to not give up when I face challenges, because God is with me and He helps me in every area of my life.
