Delivered From Smoking Addiction

I have a copy of Joseph Prince’s Destined To Reign Devotional. In 2011, I read the devotional entry titled, “Lord, I Cannot, But You Can!” It contains a testimony of a man and how he was delivered from his smoking addiction. The Bible verse given is, “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure” (Philippians 2:13).

I was a smoker and I’d tried everything to quit smoking but could not. So I copied what the man in that devotional did—I confessed Philippians 2:13 and that my body would behave as if I had never smoked.

After doing this for a few months, I threw out my cigarettes in my desperation to quit. Following that, I no longer had any urges to smoke and felt my body functioning as if I had never been a smoker.

I happened to look at the devotional entry again and noticed that it had the date, “May 31.” I realized that that was the date I threw out my cigarettes!

I am so thankful to God for His mighty deliverance and for the ministry of Joseph Prince. Be blessed!
