One Sunday night, I was travelling from Kenya to Uganda by bus. I was carrying two pieces of hand luggage with me, one of which was my laptop bag. In the bag were a new laptop, my travel documents, some extra clothing, and a few other valuable items.

Five hours into the journey, I got tired of carrying the bag and wanted to sleep. I placed it on the compartment above. But when we reached the border, I realized my laptop bag was missing.

I informed the ticket tout and we searched all over the bus. We ran after people who had alighted to see if they had taken the bag. We even called a policeman to carry out a check in the bus but the bag was nowhere to be found.

Then I remembered one of Pastor Prince’s messages where he taught on how to pray and even shared a testimony about how his daughter’s dental retainers were lost and found within the same day. I also learned that I could ask and believe God to provide for anything that I needed.

I prayed and asked God to grant me peaceful sleep as I continued with the rest of the journey while trusting Him to work on my behalf to restore my lost bag.

Two hours after I alighted in Uganda, the bus company called to inform me that my laptop bag had been found! The touts had gone back to check the passengers’ records and they called every one of them to ask if anyone had seen my laptop bag. This was something they’d never done before. I learned that another passenger had lost his suitcase but no one bothered with his situation.

In the end, a passenger owned up to taking my laptop bag and even traveled for two hours to return it. I thank God for turning this situation around! If it weren’t for His help and favor upon me, I would never have recovered my bag. I am so happy! All glory and honor to God!
