In December 2007, I found that I was getting very dizzy and easily tired. My wife and I knew something was wrong. After seeing many doctors, I was finally diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of primitive neuroectodermal tumour or PNET brain cancer (underdeveloped brain cells that are highly malignant).

Then, on 27 January 2008, we went for the first service and got a leader to pray over us. At that moment, I felt God’s peace surrounding me.

The next day, I went for an eight-hour operation and this was followed by cycles of radiation and chemotherapy. The specialist warned me that if my white blood cells dropped to a dangerous level, I would be readmitted to the hospital.

Unwilling to part with my family again, I stood firm on God’s Word and fed on Mark 9:24. I would also pray that by Jesus’ stripes, I am healed and that He would help deal with my unbelief and fear.

Amazingly, in the next few weeks, my blood levels stayed within the normal range. The oncologist asked me how I did it and I said that the cancer-free blood of Jesus flows through my body. Though he looked strangely at me for a moment, he ended up agreeing with me.

Going through the treatments was tough. But I knew I was under the shadow of His wings, in His secret place (Psalm 91). Every day, after treatment, I would go home and listen to Pastor Prince’s messages over and over again.

I was advised to take six to nine months off work. But by God’s grace, I felt well enough to return to work three months later.

God also blessed me with favor in the eyes of my employer and the company looked after me beyond anything I could have asked for or expected. The medical bill for all my treatments added up to a six-figure sum, but it was entirely covered.

I am now six and a half years free of cancer and in Jesus’ name it will never come back.
