Protected From Bullet Shot Through House

Last year, on the evening of November 28, the lights in my house flickered but they all came back on shortly after except for the one in my bedroom. Naturally, I made plans to get the electricity fixed and resigned myself to not having power in my bedroom for a few days.

At 7:30 that night, while I was sitting on the couch in the living room, I was shocked to hear the security system go off. I looked up just in time to see something fly across the room. I did not shut off the alarm immediately as I was not sure if an intruder or something else had set off the alarm.

After checking the doors and windows, I reset the security system and called the police. That’s when I noticed something was lodged in the back door. It was circular, had entered the door from the outside and had almost gone through the door. As I knew I’d seen something fly from the back of the house to the front, I went to the front door to check the floor. Lying on the floor was a piece of a bullet—the very thing I had seen flying through the house. I should not have been able to see something moving that fast but I did by the grace of God.

When a police officer arrived, he collected the bullet as evidence of “deadly misconduct.” He said from the shape of the bullet that it was a rifle round. He also told me that someone had called the police to report that three shots had been fired. One round had missed my house but another had gone through the living room. We found out later that another round was embedded in the roof.

The bullet that was shot through our living room had hit the back door and broken in half. The back half is still stuck in the door. The front half had flown through the house, ricocheted off the front door and landed on the floor in the front hallway.

Anyone could have been walking through the house at 7:30pm on a Wednesday night. I might have been going to the kitchen, especially when the electricity had gone out in my bedroom.

The point is that I believe the devil had designated November 28, 2012 to be the day I die. But thanks to Pastor Joseph Prince’s teachings as well as the guidance of my local church, I’d already known that the Bible says in Psalm 3:3, “But you, O Lord, are a shield for me.” And in Psalm 5:12 it says, “For you, O Lord, shall bless the righteous; with favor you will surround him as with a shield.” God protected me because He sees me in the Beloved, and I get the protection that our Lord Jesus deserves because His sacrifice has made me righteous. Praise the Lord for He is good! His love, mercy, favor and kindness endure forever!
