Granted Visa to Visit America Against Odds

I always wanted to go to America as a young man. After a period of loss and depression and denial of the visa, I heard the preaching by Joseph Prince about the prayer of Jabez. I decided to take God at His Word and asked Him to help me get a visa without me having to jump through hoops.

Five years later, God had created a beautiful life for me, allowing me to visit several countries but my heart still longed to go to America. At this time, American visas had a wait time of at least 200 business days in my country. Everything seemed impossible and undoable.

One day, I was led to an online application for a program, and I applied. I was one of the 76 chosen out of 7,800 applicants, and the practicum for the program would take place in the United States. I started my preparation and thanked God for the blessing He had bestowed upon me.

Everything about preparing for the program went well except my visa. It seemed that all the other applicants had gone to the embassy and received their visas for the program months before and yet, there I was without mine. I was concerned that my previous denials would affect my obtaining the visa and, therefore, it would require more time.

I decided to stay in faith and claimed almost daily that I had the visa and that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. However, one week before the date of travel, I still had not heard from the embassy. When I checked the dates available for an interview, the website indicated 300 business days until the next available appointment.

Honestly, my faith gave out. All this time, I could feel in my heart that the Lord was for me but my reality did not reflect that. One night, I said, “The battle is Yours, Lord. I really want You to do this, and You have not taken me through 6 months of this program just to leave me here.” I declared that all things work together for my good and even this was working for my good.

God led me to read His Word in Mark where Jesus walked on water and cast the demons out of a demoniac. The Bible used the word “immediately” and that emphasized the fact that Jesus sees our needs as a priority. This encouraged my heart. I also searched for the testimonies on Joseph Prince’s website and found one of a lady who had prayed for her visa, and God provided her with one in a couple of weeks. This was Tuesday evening, and I was supposed to fly out that coming Sunday.

Thursday came by, and I spent the entire day working. At 5 pm, I received a call from a number I did not recognize. I did not feel like picking it up since I felt really low and wanted to be by myself, but I felt a tug to pick up the call. It was the embassy! God orchestrated the whole event and within 48 hours, I went through the whole process of applying for, interviewing, and obtaining my printed visa. He indeed proved to me again that He is my Abba and had planned all things to glorify His name.

I am now in the United States writing this testimony. All praise and glory to Jesus Christ! I have been so blessed by how Joseph Prince explains God loves us so much and opens up the heavens for us to receive every good and perfect thing He has prepared for us. Now, I deeply appreciate the love of God in my life.
