My husband and I had been married for six years and we both desperately wanted to have children, but were unable to.

About a year ago, we were approached by a young girl who wanted us to adopt her unborn child. We were elated. For the first time in six years, we allowed ourselves to be filled with hope and excitement. We went with her for every doctor’s appointment but just two weeks before the baby was due, we received notification that we would not be able to adopt the baby. We were totally devastated. It felt like we lost a child.

At about the same time, a friend sent me a copy of Destined to Reign. To be honest, I left it lying there for a couple of months. One day, I decided to start reading it. I told myself that if I didn’t like it, I could always put it back down again.

Needless to say, once I started, I could not put it down. It opened my eyes to the flaws in my thinking. I had previously thought that maybe my husband and I weren’t meant to have children. I had seen God as sometimes blessing us and sometimes punishing us—another wrong belief!

As I read the Scriptures that revealed and supported the case for God’s grace, His love for us, and His desire to bless us, I had a complete change of mind. I began to trust God and to believe that because of His love, He would bless us with a child.

Just two weeks later, I discovered I was pregnant. Today, as I write this, our beautiful daughter is two weeks old. She is such a blessing to us! I firmly believe that it was God who put this book in my path at just the right moment to help me see that God is love. Hallelujah!
