Some time ago, there was a flood upstairs in my rental suite. The water came down into my bedroom and made it unusable. They came and tore out the floor, and I had to move my things and bed into the kitchen/dining room area.

My landlady and I filed insurance claims and waited for the paperwork to be approved and the repairs to be scheduled. The water had come in under the floor just outside my bedroom, and I was told I would have to move out completely so the entire floor could be replaced.

I wasn’t happy about this, but wherever possible, I didn’t allow it to steal my peace. I persevered in prayer and meditated on the Word daily. I continued attending online GRC services and received support from the community. I kept praising the Lord, praying in the Spirit, and receiving the Holy Communion daily.

After 4 months of waiting and sleeping in my kitchen with the buzzing fridge and noise from upstairs and the garage, I was given the repair schedule and the go-ahead to book an Airbnb!

Originally, I was going to book a small space about a block away, but that place ended up being booked by someone else before I could secure it. One night, my nephew came to visit me and shared that he was also looking to book an Airbnb for the exact same 2 weeks the repairs were scheduled at my place.

So, I ended up booking a bigger Airbnb that could accommodate both of us. I searched Airbnb and saw a listing that was not there when I checked previously. It was very nearby and had a pull-out sofa bed in the living room—perfect for my nephew. This place has the most amazing panoramic view in the whole city! It is absolutely beautiful and has a gorgeous flower garden! As soon as I checked in, I knew I wanted to live there.

After a few days of staying at the Airbnb, I felt prompted by the Spirit to reach out to the hosts and ask if they would ever like to rent the suite, and they said yes! They were praying for someone to come and rent it! As we chatted more, I found out they are also Christians from Singapore, and I know the Lord saw everything I went through over the years, led me there, and answered my prayers.

For years before I moved into the place that flooded, I struggled with different living situations that weren’t good and had to move a couple of times for reasons outside my control and for my own safety. The place I moved from that was flooded was an underground basement with 2 smaller windows. I wanted to move into a better place, but I felt so defeated after everything I had been through that I couldn’t even look for a new place to live.

However, I really wanted out of there, so I kept persevering in the Lord’s strength and seeking Him. I struggled with discouragement, feeling like I could never get out of that situation, but I walked right into a prepared blessing! I have never lived in such a beautiful home with a stunning view and a loving family.
