Church Growing after Preaching True Gospel

Pastor Prince, I have been in ministry for 34 years and have been the pastor in my church for 17 years. The message the Lord gave me has always been one of radical grace. But I began to get discouraged about 7 years ago because we were not growing despite having great worship and a message I thought was the right one.

Then one of my members gave me one of your sermon CDs. When I listened to your message and investigated further, I was pleasantly surprised. You were preaching the same message I had been teaching to our congregation. Your doctrinal understanding of the Scriptures is exactly the same as what I have always believed.

But I realized I had been keeping back part of the grace message out of fear that I would lose members if I really preached grace radically as I knew it. At that time the church could not afford to lose one soul. You helped me get over myself on that one and I began to preach without any compromises the message of Jesus Christ and His grace toward us.

Since then, our church began to grow so much that we were starting to run out of room in our children’s ministry. My wife and I prayed for direction from the Lord and for Him to show us His favor to solve the problem.

Then out of nowhere, a lady who had a ministry of providing counseling to women called me with an offer to start to use a building she was overseer of. It had been used for her father’s church. I knew which building she was talking about but it was larger than we could handle. I discussed this with our board and we decided we could not afford the rent and utility charges for such a large space. I had to turn down the offer.

Two weeks later, the lady called again to ask what my answer was. I was confused, as I had already turned down her offer. I told her again that we could not afford her building, and that we were still making payments on the one we already owned. She said, “What can’t you afford? I’m going to give you the building and all of its contents.”

A couple of months later, we moved into our new building. We went from 6,000 square feet to almost 22,000 square feet with a gymnasium and a great kitchen as well as lots of classroom space. The things the Lord has done have been miraculous. I tell all my ministry friends to believe the Lord for favor and He will direct them to the facility they need.

Our church began growing more and we are bolder in preaching the message of pure grace. We sold our other facility and are now a debt-free church. The Lord has also poured out healings and many other miracles on our congregation. We are thankful for the Lord showing us we were always on track with our message. It has created a revolution in the way we believe and that in turn has changed the way we think and impacted the way we live.
