Experiencing the Lord’s Favor After Being Made Redundant
At the beginning of this year, I prayed a heartfelt prayer: “Lord, if this job is no longer where You want me, please close the door.” Just 1 week later, I was told that my role had been made redundant. Instead of panicking, an incredible peace came over me, so much so that even my manager couldn’t understand why I wasn’t upset.
With 2 young children and limited savings, this should have been a frightening season. But the Lord gently drew me back to His grace. After dropping my children off at school, I would spend my mornings listening to Pastor Joseph Prince’s sermons, declaring God’s promises, and reminding myself of Jesus’ finished work.
Whenever anxiety tried to creep in, especially with the constant negative news about the economy, I chose to speak God’s Word over my family, trust His heart for us, and simply take things 1 day at a time.
I applied for jobs casually, not expecting much. But the Lord moved in a way that left me in awe. Almost every application turned into an interview, and within a month, I received multiple job offers!
My wife looked at me and said, “This is definitely the favor of God,” and I knew it was true. I wasn’t the most experienced candidate, nor did I have impressive accolades. It was purely His grace opening doors for me.
Today, I stand amazed at how our Abba Father provides—not according to the economy but according to His unending favor. I am deeply grateful for Pastor Prince and New Creation Church for always pointing me back to Jesus. His love carried me through this season and brought me into blessings I never imagined.
