A mosquito in my room or anywhere within my notice always affected my concentration and peace. Because I hated mosquito repellents, I would end up having restless days and sleepless nights trying to personally eradicate mosquitoes. But this all came to an end when I started praying Psalm 91 over my life after listening to Pastor Prince’s message, Living In The Secret Place Of The Most High.

One night, I woke up to the sound of a mosquito and started to chase it. I expected another sleepless night. But somehow, I stopped to speak to Jesus. I asked Him, “Jesus, You give sleep to your beloved, am I not your beloved?”

Interestingly, I stopped pursuing the mosquito after that. Instead, I sought my Bible and randomly opened it up to Psalm 91. I began reading it and when I came to the part, “nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness” (Psalm 91:6), I stopped and started walking around the room declaring, “nor of the pestilence that flies in darkness.”

Soon, despite noticing a few more mosquitoes, I fell into a sound sleep. Since that day, I can sit peacefully and sleep soundly with or without mosquitoes around me.

I will never forget how Jesus removed my fear of mosquitoes. To know Him is to know peace that surpasses all understanding. Thank You, Jesus!
