Pastor Prince, I started taking drugs and alcohol at the age of thirteen. I had a bad childhood and I also lost my daughter to sudden infant death syndrome when she was four-and-a-half months old. The pain in my heart was so intense that only drugs and alcohol could numb it.

I’m now thirty-six and I’ve been imprisoned for producing methamphetamine. I was into intravenous drug use and have been charged with eight counts of driving while intoxicated and over a dozen felonies. I was getting ready to go back to prison for ten years. Almost everyone I knew had given up on me.

One day, I was in my apartment when I saw a YouTube video of you saying God loves me no matter what and that I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I dropped to my knees and asked God to free me from my oppressions. Then I cried for the first time in years because I felt Jesus took away all the pain in my heart. I felt genuinely loved.

That very day, I cleaned up my ways and it’s been more than a year since I last took any drugs or alcohol. God also helped me to get off probation after a year and I no longer have to face ten years in prison. Not only that, all my relationships have been restored and I am enjoying financial freedom even after purchasing my first home.

I am so thankful for God’s grace and Jesus’ finished work at the cross. I am living proof that God’s grace and unconditional love can help anyone out of a sinful lifestyle. I wish I had known years ago that God loves me no matter what.
