Healed from Broken Heart and Blessed with Daughter
Pastor Prince, in 2018, I started working from home 2 days a week. I also began reading the letters of Paul in the New Testament. When I worked from home, I liked to listen to sermons on television. At that time, I was following a certain pastor, and your sermons would come on after his. Whenever you appeared on television, I would change the channel, because I told myself I couldn’t understand you or relate to you.
I finished Paul’s letters sometime in 2019, and I remember asking the Lord, “Lord, what is this grace that Paul talks about?” I did my best to learn the biblical meaning of grace, but I sensed that the definitions I found at the time were incomplete or lacked something. I then prayed, asking the Lord to reveal the true meaning of grace to me.
Fast forward to 2020. I was working from home 5 days a week because of COVID-19. I was still listening to that same pastor, but one day, I became distracted at work and did not get up in time to change the channel. As I was walking to the other room to change it, I heard you say, “Grace is a person, and His name is Jesus.”
Needless to say, I have been listening to and following you for over 6 years now. Since listening to you, I have been blessed beyond words. Not only do I understand who and what grace is, but I have also been healed from a broken heart. You see, my husband and I had suffered 2 miscarriages. At the first visit for both pregnancies, I was told there was no heartbeat. I was sad and confused at the time, and I pulled away from Jesus. I had no words to say or pray.
Sometime in 2020, I heard you preach in one of your sermons about David and Bathsheba, how they lost their first child, and how that child was growing up in heaven. Hearing this marked the beginning of my healing process, and I now see that God needed to heal me before He could bless me.
In August 2020, I heard my local pastor preach on 1 Samuel 30:19. I kept hearing “nothing missing or lacking” throughout the week, so finally I picked up my Bible to read the verse. Nothing immediately stood out to me, so I asked the Holy Spirit if He was trying to tell me something, and I heard, “Start at 1 Samuel chapter 1.” Chapter 1 is the story about Hannah. As I was reading her story, I was crying and saying to the Lord, “Lord, this is how I feel.” I prayed Hannah’s prayer, but I adjusted it slightly by asking for a girl. This took place in August 2020.
By September 2020, we were pregnant again. At the first doctor’s visit, the doctor said, “Your baby has a strong heartbeat.” I thought about how Pastor Prince always says God will give us more than we ask for, because the other two had no heartbeat.
My daughter, Rily Jo, was born on May 13, 2021. I have a grace baby. She is truly a joy and delight to me and my own special possession from the Lord. She is 4.5 now.
Recently, she asked me, “Mommy, can you say those nice words you always say to me?” I said, “What nice words do I always say?” She said, “You are my beloved daughter in whom I am well pleased.” I shared a smile with the Lord because I realized in that moment that the 2 scriptures I say to her all the time both point to Jesus (Matthew 3:17 and Luke 1:28). I can’t wait for her to read these scriptures or hear them in a sermon and for the Lord to give her a special revelation.
Thank you, Pastor Prince, for your ministry.
