I have been re-reading Joseph Prince’s book The Power of Right Believing. In the book, Joseph encourages us to take up a challenge in which we practice being conscious of Jesus’ presence for a week.

I decided to do this and the Lord was so faithful to open my eyes to see Jesus with me, especially when I got anxious and worried. Even when I was ill-tempered and angry, I would confess my righteousness in Christ.

I realized I had been considering our family’s finances instead of looking to the Lord. I let go of my worries about my son’s school fees and our current financial status to Him. The Lord gave me Zechariah 4:6—“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit”—to hold on to. It made me cry to realize He cares for me and my family.

Now I live stress-free and am hopeful for a brighter future. Because I learned to focus Jesus instead of my husband, I no longer look to him to provide for me all the time. This has made our marriage so much more enjoyable.

By reminding myself that Jesus is in me and He helps me care for my son, I’ve been enjoying motherhood too. My son’s attitude has improved and he likes quoting Bible verses to me.
