I was born into a Christian household. Yet, for over 20 years, I struggled with 2 of the biggest obstacles of my life—pornography and craving for food. Being born into a house where God is preached daily, you can imagine how guilty I’ve always felt about the fact that I could never win over my addictions.

Around 2 years ago, my mother started telling me about this Singaporean preacher called Joseph Prince. I started listening to some of his sermons but could not grasp the meaning of his messages. I was at a relatively low point in my spiritual life and very disappointed with God, not only because of my addictions but also because everything in life always seemed like an awful struggle for me. Even Pastor Prince’s positive, faith-filled messages couldn’t get through to me.

I bought my mom 3 of Pastor Prince’s books as a Mother’s Day gift. She was delighted. However, I was the one who ended up reading everything in less than a few weeks. As I read the first book Unmerited Favor, something happened to me. I read about God’s many miracles and how there is no longer condemnation for those in Christ. Suddenly, before even finishing the first book, I wasn’t craving food, and pornography seemed like a thing of the past.

I still failed once, but it wasn’t a crushing defeat like before. I quickly came back to the path of Christ’s grace. Days passed, and things remained the same without any effort on my part. I didn’t feel the urge to return to my addictions.

I now prefer to eat fruits. I have also gained tremendous spiritual strength, which led me to start exercising regularly on weekdays. After many years of weird diets and immense effort to get over lust and the unhealthy desire for food, I have been set free by God’s hand through Pastor Prince’s book.

I feel inclined to follow the steps of Jesus, and I believe I have a calling to preach the gospel as a pastor. I’ve started reading and studying the Bible, very different from before when even opening the Bible felt like a chore. I also developed a habit of reading books, most of them related to the Bible and faith.

Changes came over my life by just reading a few pages of a book. I believe Jesus has far more for me now that I know we have open access to His miracles. Thank you, Pastor Prince and your team!
