I’m a believer who comes from a family of non-believers. I used to work in the United Kingdom, but I moved to the United States to be with my husband. Initially, I didn’t have the option to work because I was waiting for my work permit to be approved.

After a year, I received my work permit and started looking for opportunities. The job market was very unstable, and I received no offers. Months passed, and everyone around me began to doubt my worth and work experience. But deep inside, I felt I would definitely land a job that would bring glory to God and strongly believed He was at work for me.

I applied for full-time and contract positions, but waiting to hear from recruiters became a challenge. I received an email from a company for a full-time role, and they asked for my details. With lots of hope, I sent my details, but didn’t hear from them. A week later, I learned that I had not been shortlisted.

I lost hope and began to doubt God’s presence in my life. I also began to doubt myself, my worth, and my experience, just as others were doubting me. The journey felt really dark. One moment, I was in doubt. The next moment, I had some faith. I stopped praying, too, and that made me feel very uneasy.

Then I came to know that the company where I had cleared the interview, but didn’t get the offer, had retrenched the whole team I would have joined. That was when I stopped looking at myself, my worth, and my experience, and I started my days by watching Joseph Prince’s sermons, hitting the gym while praying in tongues, and spending time talking with Jesus.

Earlier, I had interviewed for a role at a reputable bank through my sister-in-law’s referral, but that offer fell through because of a hiring freeze. Once again, I received an email from the same bank asking for my details for another position I had applied for a month earlier. This time, they clearly stated I was shortlisted and that they would schedule an interview soon.

My interview was scheduled, and it was a panel interview. I felt nervous because all my previous interviews had been one-on-one, and I had never received an offer. I started praying and confessing that this interview was not about me facing 4 panel interviewers but about Jesus being with me in the interview, regardless of how many interviewers there were. I have a habit of watching a Decibel.one video titled “Are You Afraid of What’s in Your Tomorrow.” It boosts my confidence before any presentation or interview. I did the same for this interview, and it turned out to be a clear win.

The interviewers were really impressed with my performance, and I knew it was because Jesus was with me. The interview proceeded to the next round and ultimately reached the final one. The interviewers informed me that before they interviewed me, they had already finalized someone else for the position. However, they did not want to lose a candidate like me and wanted to consider my profile for a similar role they had available. They wanted me on board soon because a hiring freeze would start the next month.

Things moved very fast. I have landed an offer and will be joining the team as an assistant vice president. All glory to my living God. I would not have been able to do this without Him. It took almost 8 to 10 months to land this offer. I want to encourage all job seekers out there that our God is our source. No unstable job market or layoffs can stop God from working in your lives. Even when there is no hope, there is room for a miracle.
