I am a mother of 2 boys who are now young adults. I have always been the disciplinarian in the family, while my husband was the peacemaker.

But ever since my husband passed away, there has been no middleman between my sons and me whenever we argue. I have especially struggled with my oldest son, with whom I’ve had the most conflicts. For years, we would argue about his decisions and choices.

A few months ago, we had another clash that resulted in my son disconnecting from me. We spoke hurtful words that crushed each other’s spirits, and we did not talk to or see each other after that.

During those months of estrangement, I reached the end of myself. I’ve been a born-again believer since the 1980s but hadn’t really walked in the Spirit, as I had depended on my self-efforts all these years. So I cried to God and surrendered my son to Him.

In the days that followed, my hunger to feed on God’s Word was stirred up. I listened to Pastor Prince’s teachings on rest. When I read the book of Ruth, the part where Naomi told Ruth to “sit still” came alive to me, and I believed Jesus was at work redeeming my situation.

One night, as I was about to settle down for bed, I went on YouTube to watch New Creation Church’s online service. The sharing was about Pastor Prince’s latest Study Bible. Toward the end, there was a prayer for parents and for God to repair our relationships with our children. I broke down in tears and felt God’s love.

A week passed, and I received a message from my son telling me he missed me a ton and was hoping for a reconciliation. That was the answer to the prayer. When Jesus works, His results are far better than the results of my self-efforts. Thank you for your ministry, Pastor Prince.
