I have been in bondage to masturbation since I was a teenager in secondary school. I felt guilty whenever I indulged in it. I tried to avoid watching erotic movies in order to refrain from the act and also sought help by talking to others about it, but to no avail.

At one point, I even started watching pornography. I felt very condemned and unworthy to come into God’s presence. I did not want to pray at all and could not find the power to get out of this bondage.

One day, a very good friend introduced me to Pastor Joseph Prince’s video sermons on YouTube. Subsequently, I found the website of Joseph Prince Ministries and subscribed to the Daily Grace Inspirations. I also read many articles and praise reports of how people have been set free by the gospel of grace.

Even though my English was weak, I could understand what I read by the grace of God. I was amazed by the teachings on grace. I began to understand how righteous I am in Christ as a believer and felt a heavy burden fall off my shoulders.

However, a few months later, I got caught up with pornography and masturbation again. I was disappointed with myself but I soon learned that declaring, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ,” is not a magic formula. I have to understand and truly believe in my heart that I am the righteousness of God in Christ. As I continued to feed on grace teachings and focus on God’s grace in my life, I was set free from pornography and masturbation effortlessly.

Since then, I have also experienced undeserved, unearned and unmerited favor in my studies. Not only have I passed my examinations, but God has also surpassed my expectations by giving me good grades. Now I know Daddy God loves me and I am so grateful. I strongly believe that the best days of my life are ahead of me and I cannot wait to experience more of His grace.
