Since last year, I have been listening to your messages. They reveal the loveliness of Jesus and they have blessed me. It was around the middle of last year that the revelation of the Lord’s favor dropped from my head to my heart.

During that time, I decided to go for a job interview even though I didn’t have time to prepare or brush up on my knowledge of the IT industry. (Till then, I had been desperately seeking for a job change in the IT industry, but was turned down numerous times.)

With this newfound confidence in God’s love for me, I walked right into the interview room and was assigned an interviewer who just asked me simple questions regarding my experience. I was offered the job. What’s more, I was offered a salary that was 30 percent more than my salary at the time.

Around the same time, I went for another interview with a leading MNC. Again, trusting in God’s favor, I walked into the interview room.

This time, my interview was with a very senior guy. The interview didn’t go very smoothly. I managed to answer many of his questions. But halfway through, I was feeling so discouraged that when I was asked about my weakness, I just gave a blank stare. The interviewer even asked me if this was the first interview in my life. Though there were many other rounds in the days following this interview, I had given up hope.

I preferred the second job to the first for many reasons. However, since I was offered a job by the first company and heard nothing from the second company, I relocated to a different place and started working in my new company.

In the new company, I was told that there were no projects at that time for me to handle. So for around four months, I was paid with nothing to do. And since it was not mandatory for me to sit in the office when I had no work, I could sit at home or go about my own business until I was assigned a project. It was like a paid vacation!

Toward the end of the fourth month, I was assigned an easy project. Others who had joined the company around the same time as me were working really hard on difficult projects just to meet their deadlines.

Around this time, the second company called me up with their offer. Apparently, it took them five months to process my offer. They even asked me how much I wanted for my salary. I was taken aback and since I didn’t want to relocate again, I thought that I would just discourage them by asking for a 21 percent hike in salary. And guess what? They came back with a 30 percent hike!

On analyzing the offer and knowing that there would be better opportunities in the second company, I decided to accept their offer. When I did the math later, I realized that my salary had increased 69 percent within six months.

I had gone for two interviews after understanding the significance of the cross and I got both jobs. Previously, when I was well prepared and trusted in my efforts, I was rejected by many companies. Now, I’m irresistible only because Jesus took my place and His place was given to me in exchange. And since He is a blessing magnet, I am one too.
