Survived Aggressive Brain Cancer and Thriving 16 Years Later
After having a grand mal seizure on September 23, 2009, I was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme, one of the most aggressive forms of brain cancer.
The first hospital told my husband to take me home and get my affairs in order, for they could not do anything for me, as the tumor was 25 percent the size of my brain. On the way home, we went to church as they were having a Friday evening service, and they all prayed over me.
One of the top neurosurgeons, who had been doing brain surgeries for 30 years at that point, ended up taking my case. I told him that I was sure he was great at what he does, but this tumor wasn’t staying in my brain because I know my God. He asked if I’ve seen the MRI scan, to which I responded, “No. Everyone else has seen it, but that’s not my focus.”
He told me that there was one other doctor he trusted to do the surgery on me because he only did surgeries on Mondays, and he was booked up for several Mondays. I said it was fine. I said, “Father, whatever Your best is.” The following Monday, this doctor ended up doing my surgery. Later, he told my family that he was able to remove almost the entire tumor.
The morning of my surgery, many of the hospital staff told my family that they did not expect me to survive the surgery and that if I did survive, I could be a vegetable. Praise the Lord, I was up walking around and talking right after!
I have been told many times by many doctors, even my oncologist at that time, that that kind of cancer always comes back, and it is the worst cancer diagnosis there is. Yet here I am over 16 years later! It’s a miracle that I’m still here.
Fast forward to you, Pastor Prince! While I was going to church, I also watched 4 different preachers on television every weekday while I stayed home to raise our girls. One of the pastors just happened to say that she watches you, and the very next day, as I was watching my four usual pastors, you ended up coming on in place of one of them. Had I not heard about you the day before, I would’ve changed the channel.
God used you to change my life. No matter how much I learned about Father God, I always had sin-consciousness. You were the first and only one to ever talk about being righteousness-conscious. That set me free!
Since then, I am on the healing ministry team where we’ve seen lots of people delivered from cancer diagnoses, even those who were only given a few weeks to live. I listen to your teachings all through the day and even while I’m sleeping. I put earbuds in and listen all through the night. I start my day off with the Gospel Partner day and night devotionals. I partake of Holy Communion with you, and I share your sermons with others in need of healing.
I have taken countless notes from many sermons since becoming a partner several years back. I cannot tell you how much your ministry has impacted my life and how I pray for others.
I partake of Holy Communion daily, and I’ve also received it for my family members in accidents and strokes where they were meant to not even make it through the night, and they miraculously lived and are still alive and well now.
I’ve had nurses message me throughout this journey telling me that I’ve turned them back to Jesus and that I’m an inspiration, that I shouldn’t even be alive, as have many who heard and know my story.
Believe Jesus and get His results, or believe man’s reports and get their results. Pastor Prince, my story has so much to do with the sermons you teach! Thank you for being faithful to His calling on your life.
