Years of Bondage Broken Through God's Grace
I started listening to Pastor Prince on television as early as during my teenage years. Although I had grown up in church and received the Lord Jesus as my Savior, I did not know how much God loved me until I learned it through Pastor Prince’s teachings.
My dream had always been to study in America on a scholarship, and the Lord answered that prayer. While in university, I drifted away from the Lord and pursued a life outside His will. I lost my father tragically and became deeply depressed. I began smoking marijuana and drinking. I pursued relationships that were outside God’s design for me and questioned my gender. I was flunking school, my grades were dropping, and I felt overwhelmed, unhappy, and hopeless.
Eventually, I rededicated my life to God. A few weeks later, I found my sister watching one of Pastor Prince’s sermons on YouTube, and I started watching them too. As I continued listening to his sermons, my relationship with the Lord grew stronger. One day, while listening to another sermon by Pastor Prince, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit and began speaking in tongues.
In one sermon, Pastor Prince shared testimonies of believers who had been delivered from addictions, including pornography and masturbation, through believing and confessing that they are the righteousness of God in Christ. I was surprised because I had struggled with pornography and masturbation since my pre-teen years. I had tried for years to break free, but eventually accepted it as normal.
After watching that sermon, I decided that every time I was tempted, and even when I fell, I would believe and confess that I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I also determined that one day I would testify, just as one of those believers had, that I had gone a year without this sin.
Over time, I found myself giving in to temptation less and less. Six months later, I stopped pornography and masturbation altogether. I also stopped drinking, smoking marijuana, and pursuing relationships that were outside of God’s will. Most of all, I became confident that my relationship with the Lord is established on His righteousness rather than my own. I learned to come to God as my Father and my friend, knowing that my identity is found in what my heavenly Father says about me.
As I write this testimony, I have now been free for 2 years. God has also made me a blessing to my family. Thank You, Jesus, and thank you, Pastor Prince, for sharing your grace-filled messages on TV and YouTube. May God continue to multiply your ministry. Amen!
