There was a storm with high winds of around 65 mph in the local area. I took cover in the basement as instructed. While watching the live updates on the weather, I realized the worst part of the storm would be over my brother’s home.

I began to pray Psalm 91 out loud with a close family member who was in the room with me. We prayed the psalm over ourselves and our loved ones. Then I sang the song You Are My Hiding Place that Joseph Prince had sung over his congregation. After singing it, I thanked God for His protection and let go of my worries.

A few hours later, we found out that my brother and his family had lost power, but they were out for a meal after the storm passed. The whole neighborhood was wrecked, with trees uprooted and live wires catching fire. But my brother’s home was untouched—nothing had harmed it. They were also the first ones to have their power back on within a day. Normally, it takes a week or more.

Praying over our loved ones is so important, even if they’re not believers. I thank God and Joseph Prince for showing me the way!
