Delivered from Aggressive Form of Breast Cancer
In September 2022, I underwent routine breast reduction surgery, which required me to have a mammogram as part of the process. The mammogram came back negative, and the surgery proceeded as planned. However, just 11 days after the surgery, I was informed that they had discovered triple-positive breast cancer in my right breast. As I left the hospital, I called my parents on the drive home, and we prayed together.
On my way to subsequent appointments, I sang praises to God, much like the Israelites did at the Battle of Jericho. I quoted healing scriptures and, following Pastor Prince’s guidance, partook of the Holy Communion.
Additional imaging revealed a tumor that had been invisible on the mammogram. The surgeon told me it was a miracle they even found it, as tissue was removed randomly. Just a few millimeters in any other direction could have left the tumor intact, allowing it to progress. Thankfully, the tumor was found, labeled as aggressive, but detected early at stage 1.
I completed the surgery, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. Miraculously, I was able to continue working, thanks to God’s favor and my employer’s flexibility. Not only was I delivered from cancer, but I also received a raise, and 3 months later, I was promoted! But despite having insurance, I still faced over $20,000 in out-of-pocket hospital costs. My husband and I figured we would just make payments until the debt was covered.
Then the hospital finance department called to inform me they wanted to pay off my debt, and all I had to do was submit a form. When I mentioned we didn’t qualify for aid, they encouraged me to send in the form anyway. To my amazement, they paid 100 percent of my out-of-pocket medical bills!
At the beginning of this journey, I asked God to allow me to be a blessing to others through my experience, and He granted that request. I now mentor other women diagnosed with similar conditions. Throughout this process, I have consistently quoted Scripture, partaken of the Holy Communion, and placed my faith in my Lord Jesus Christ. “What do you conspire against the Lord? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time” (Nah. 1:9). Praise God!
