A couple of years ago, I fell into a deep depression and was not doing well physically. I experienced chest pains and was also severely overweight. I started dieting and began walking regularly. Within 2 months, I lost about 10 kg. However, instead of feeling healthier, I looked haggard and worn down. During this period, I had stepped away from church. I was no longer feeding on God’s Word and was trying to cope on my own.

I thought that the weight loss meant I was improving, but when I went for a blood test, the results came as a shock. I was told that I was pre-diabetic, my cholesterol was extremely high, and my liver cancer marker was in the red zone. The report also showed widespread inflammation throughout my body.

I was devastated. My doctor immediately sent me for an ultrasound, and thankfully, no tumour was found. Even so, seeing a liver cancer marker flagged in red was frightening.

Around that time, the 8 Hours Of Healing Scriptures video by Pastor Prince was released. My care group leader shared it with me, and I began listening to it every night while I slept and during my long walks. I also started feeding on the Word again.

About 6 months later, I began to notice changes. The chest pains had stopped, my strength improved, and I even went on a mountain hike, during which I also partook of the Holy Communion.

During this period, I prayed and asked the Lord to intervene. He did so by sending my care group leader and close friends to pray for me and encourage me to return to church. When I returned, I found myself moved to tears during worship and was reminded of how personal God’s love is. My faith began to rise.

About a year later, I went for a follow-up test. While other indicators had improved, the liver cancer marker was still red. But I chose not to give up. I pictured Jesus taking every stripe on my behalf, reminding myself that He had paid fully and completely for my healing. I continued partaking of the Communion and resting in His finished work.

A few weeks ago, I had another follow-up with my doctor. This time, my test results came back glowing. The liver cancer marker, which had been elevated for 2.5 years, returned to normal. The doctor said there was no cause for concern.

I am thankful to Pastor Prince for continually pointing us to Jesus and His finished work. This journey has taught me that Jesus is faithful and that healing can unfold quietly when we rest in Him. To God be all the glory.
