A couple years ago, I gave birth to my third child but also lost my job round about the same time. My husband and I agreed that I should stay home to raise the children. But we had to make major adjustments in our lifestyles as our income was literally cut by half.

My husband, Todd, was working in another town for a government agency that wasn’t treating him well. He had been there for twenty-five years. Since I was home, I began listening to one of Joseph Prince’s teachings about career promotions and having a good position.

Every morning, as the children and I waited for the school bus, we would pray for the Lord’s favor on my husband. We would also ask God to provide not only a promotion for my husband, but also a good position! We began praying in August 2013, thanking the Lord for His provision, and in April 2014, another government agency wanted to recruit Todd for a Director position!

While this position didn’t offer more money, it offered more value. He could work in our hometown and it included annual wage increases, something that Todd hadn’t had for six years. There was also a greater potential for career advancement.

At about the same time, my husband was also offered a promotion in his current job! After much prayer, we chose the new career position over the job promotion.

Looking back on our prayers, I remember my children asking why we were thanking God for a career position my husband didn’t have yet. Now, they see the Lord’s faithfulness and how He wants to satisfy us with good things. We serve an awesome God!
