My name is Andre and my story dates back to 2015. At the time, I was a professional American football player in the National Football League (NFL). I have always been in church but in 2012 I really began listening to and digesting Pastor Prince’s teachings. The change people saw in me was incredible, but more incredible was the change I saw in myself.

Even though I was a professional sports player, I had such a negative self-image and used to constantly worry if I was ever good enough. After hearing and hearing messages on God’s grace, I began to finally understand that if Jesus is good enough, then I am good enough because “as He is so am I in this world.”

But I was in financial difficulty for 3 years because of some investments that didn’t work out. My wife and I just had a new baby girl. I was not on a team, had no job, and my wife was still on maternity leave. When things were at their worst, God led a team to sign me. The thing is, they still ended up releasing me from the team. I had no income and my hopes of playing in the NFL again were dashed. But throughout all that was happening, I kept on hearing and hearing God’s Word.

Shortly after that team released me and sent me home, God woke me up in the middle of the night and said, “Don’t unpack.” The next morning the team called me and said, “We made a mistake. We want you here on our team. We are flying you back today!” I have never heard of this happening before! And because of what had happened, the team was obligated to pay me for the entire year!

All this happened when there was no other way my family could have made it. Looking back, God had already orchestrated everything so I would know that it is He who fights our battles and our only labor is the labor to rest.
