Mother Survived Massive Stroke, Now Home and Getting Stronger
A year and a half ago, my mom suffered a massive stroke that left her totally paralyzed and unconscious. She was hospitalized for almost a month.
Looking at her, it felt like we were going to lose her. But again and again during that dark time, I was reminded of the account in Mark 5:36. A synagogue ruler had asked the Lord to heal his daughter, but then received news that she was already dead. Every day, I cried and felt sorry for my mom, but I held on to the same words the Lord spoke: “Do not be afraid; only believe.”
Even when her condition showed no improvement and the doctors told us she might not make it, we kept declaring that by Jesus’ wounds, Mama was already healed. We kept declaring her healing as we partook of the Holy Communion. Even as I went to sleep, I kept listening to Pastor Prince’s messages and the healing promises on YouTube.
There were times when I felt so lost, tired, and drained physically, emotionally, and financially. But throughout those times, the Lord sustained us by His grace. There were even moments when I felt the Lord’s aggressive peace, which I cannot explain, especially when the doctors were giving us negative reports. I held on to the Lord’s words: “Do not be afraid; only believe.”
And the Lord is indeed faithful and good. Even though the doctor had told us she might not make it, she was discharged after twenty-two days. She is now healed and getting stronger and stronger. She is at home with us, and we celebrated her 76th birthday.
Throughout all the financial concerns, the Lord sustained us through His amazing grace and showed us favor, providing for all our financial needs for her medications and therapy. Truly, the Lord Jesus is so good.
I also want to thank the Lord for leading me to Pastor Prince’s book Destined to Reign a few years ago. It transformed my Christian life. I went from being overwhelmed and condemned while trying my best to be a good Christian to being totally at rest and overwhelmed by the Lord’s love for me. The beautiful message of full, pure grace that Pastor Prince has been preaching throughout the years has helped me and my family fix our eyes on the Lord, whatever circumstances we face. Thank you, Pastor Prince, for boldly preaching this beautiful message of grace.
