No More Anger Issues After Hearing God’s Grace
I have been a Christian since I was 5 years old and grew up in a Christian family in the Philippines. The message I often heard growing up was that the Lord is loving but also punishes you when you make mistakes. That belief shaped much of my early understanding of God.
When my husband and I moved to the United States, I began watching Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN). One day, I came across Pastor Joseph Prince preaching about God’s grace. At first, I changed the channel because I thought what he was saying was too good to be true. His message was so different from the ones I had heard growing up. However, a small part of his message that I did hear stayed with me. He said, “If you commit sin, confess that you are the righteousness of God in Christ.” That line struck something deep in me.
My father was very physically abusive. Even small mistakes resulted in punishment. My siblings and I developed a lot of hatred, anger, and fear. Personally, I struggled with serious anger issues. I would repent over and over again, sometimes five times a day, but nothing changed.
Eventually, I searched for Pastor Prince’s message again on TBN and began listening to him repeatedly. As I continued to hear about God’s grace and started to confess, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ,” something changed in me. Within a week of declaring that truth over my life, all that anger left me.
I finally knew I was loved. Before, I had no assurance of my salvation. I constantly feared that if Jesus returned, and I hadn’t repented of everything, I would go to hell. But I’m so thankful to God for the message of grace revealed to Pastor Joseph Prince that we have eternal salvation in Christ, and that sin has no more dominion over us because of Jesus’ finished work.
I have been listening to Pastor Prince for more than 15 years,. I listen to between 3 and 5 messages a day. Listening to the Word continuously cleanses my mind and brings me more rest and peace. I also lead a small group in our church, and we always watch and discuss the messages we learn that day. My sisters in Christ have also been blessed through God’s grace.
To God be the glory. Thank you, Pastor Prince, for sharing the message of God’s grace. Praises to our loving Savior, Jesus Christ!
