No More Panic Attacks, Blessed with Pregnancy

A few years ago, I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I was put on medication for 18 months till my thyroid levels went back to normal. However, 11 months after that, I suffered a relapse and my doctor recommended that I undergo radio iodine treatment.

Due to the treatment, all the cells in my thyroid gland were destroyed and I had to be on thyroxine for life. The dosage of thyroxine I was required to take caused my hormones to become unbalanced. I had 3 boys and always wanted to have a girl, but because of the effects of my treatment, I gave up the idea of having another child.

I fluctuated between hypo and hyperthyroidism and started to get heart palpitations. Although I was in and out of the hospital many times, my ECG, X-ray, and 24-hour Holter results didn’t show any abnormalities. The doctors always said there was nothing wrong with me. I felt so lost as they could not accurately diagnose what was causing the symptoms.

When I eventually went to see a psychiatrist, I was told that I had been having severe panic attacks and was prescribed Xanax and an antidepressant. I cried almost every day and was fearful of taking showers as I would always get panic attacks.

One day, while I was in the shower, I began to have a panic attack again. This time, I talked to God. I did not know how to pray but I kept telling Him that I didn’t know why He came to my mind when I was a non-believer. I told the Lord to relieve my panic attacks so that I could have a good shower. After saying this, I felt peace in my heart and enjoyed the rest of my shower.

My sister-in-law had given me one of Joseph Prince’s sermons some years back but I had just kept it in the cupboard without listening to it. I went on YouTube to search for Joseph’s sermons and listened to “Worship with the Psalms of David and See Good Days” and “Five Words to Live By—The Battle is the Lord’s.”

I began to listen to Pastor Prince’s sermons every day and whenever I had a panic attack. I also read his books. Today my panic attacks are under control and I no longer have to rely on Xanax. I also became pregnant with my fourth child and gave birth to a healthy baby girl after receiving your prayer for open wombs in a sermon!

I am very happy to say I have received Christ and New Creation Church [in Singapore] is my home church. I now know God knows what I need and He will supply. Praise the Lord!
