I watched a DVD of Joseph Prince when he came to South Africa, and it changed my life.

Even though I had watched many CDs and DVDs, read books, and watched Joseph Prince on YouTube, I never really did this thing he said we should do: plant yourself in a good local church.

I prayed, watched, and learned as much as I could, but deep down I was mostly concerned about making sure I was okay and that everything would work out for me. God was always there for me, but when times were good, I was too busy for church. Then when times were bad, I would run back to church, and He would always help me.

At the age of 42, with all the biblical knowledge in the world, I finally realized I needed a change of heart. I gave my life, time, talent, and treasure to God, committed myself to Him, and planted myself in a good church.

Since then, my salary has increased more than 5-fold. I have been promoted, and I have been set free from a smoking addiction that I had since the age of 16. I have no cravings. This happened over 2 days, so it was not my strength. It was all God.

We have also been blessed with a bigger home that costs less than our current one, allowing us to host more people in our connect groups, which meet twice a week. Today, we are serving in church and are grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the lives of God’s people. My life is nowhere near perfect, but I know that I am on my way to perfection with Jesus holding my hand.
