Pregnant Despite Medical Challenges

Five years ago, when our daughter was turning 13, I started to have a strong desire to have another child. I knew that it was the Lord who placed the desire into my heart because I did not have a good experience when I was expecting our daughter and I did not want to go through that same experience again.

However, despite the desire, circumstances such as job losses and my husband’s medical condition prevented me from having another child.

My husband was diagnosed with hepatitis C and he also had leukemia when he was a child. In fact, we were told that we might not be able to have children at all because of the radiation he had as a child. However, we knew this was not true because our daughter was conceived without any problems.

The treatments for my husband’s hepatitis C condition continued for three years and during that period, I would have thoughts that I was getting older and time would run out. I am 44 years old, soon to be 45, and my husband 50, soon to be 51. But I kept reminding myself that I am not of this world and that God gave Sarah a child when she was 90.

Last July, when I went to the doctor for my annual examination, I told my husband that when I came back for the examination this year, I would be expecting. I only made the statement once and forgot about it afterwards. As of May, doctors certified the hepatitis C to be out of my husband’s system and God provided through his new position, insurance that covers maternity.

We had read all the material in the world that stated that it could take up to a year for us to conceive and the chances were very slim because of our age and the medical issues my husband had been through and was still having. However, we did not believe that there would be any problem because we know that we are as Jesus is and we are in God’s family and not of the world.

At the beginning of June, I took out the CD, Experiencing Unceasing Fruitfulness, and reminded God of the three things that I was believing Him for this year. When Pastor Prince quoted the Bible verse for someone believing God for a child, I repeated it for myself. Little did I know that God had already given me my heart’s desire. It happened effortlessly, the very first time, and when it wasn’t supposed to happen according to the world and medical science. It was truly a miracle of God.

I was due to go to the doctor for my annual examination and I told my husband that he needed to go with me because I felt that something was different. We took three different pregnancy tests before going for the examination and they all came back positive. The doctor also confirmed that we were having another child.

I was concerned at first because of all the problems I had when I was expecting my daughter. However, this time it has been wonderful. I started to get nauseous after the first month, but my husband started laying hands on me every morning. I also started confessing that as Jesus is, so am I in this world and because He is not nauseous, therefore I am not. And within a week, the nausea was completely gone and I felt wonderful.

We have seen a sonogram of the baby and everything is perfect. Because of my age, we have had numerous tests offered to us. However, we have declined to take the tests because we firmly believe everything is perfect because God gave us this child. I have even started confessing to the baby that as Jesus is, so is he or she in this world.

Our lives have been getting better and better since we were introduced to Pastor Prince’s ministry in 2007. We are so thankful for Pastor Prince ministering the beauty and person of Jesus. I know that without being shown how much our Daddy God loves us and what we have in Jesus, this would not have been possible—not because God was not supplying, but because we would have felt that somehow we weren’t worthy of His miracles, or thought we had to have the faith to make it happen. I also believe that seeing Pastor Prince’s wife Wendy having another child gave us more inspiration. We are so thankful for your ministry!
