Restored with Bonus and Salary Increase After Debit Card Fraud
One of my 3 prayer requests last year was for an increase in salary. When I heard the theme of the year and Pastor’s sharing about Jabez, I felt it was a signal from the Lord that this prayer request was aligned with His vision for me.
One Friday morning, I received alerts on my handphone about unauthorized payments. I realized that an unknown person was using my debit card and had already spent more than $900. I immediately called the bank’s hotline. The card was swiftly deactivated, and I was told to wait for the bank to complete its checks before the money could possibly be returned to me.
While waiting, various thoughts and feelings of discouragement threatened to overwhelm me. I put on worship music. It was my shield, but I couldn’t have music on 24/7. At that point, I was also reminded of my prayer request, as if the devil was giving me a snide remark, saying, “Ha! Where is your prayer request now? Does God even care?”
Around this period, other unhappy events happened to my family members, and I felt like we were under attack from the enemy from various angles. Treating this series of unauthorized payments as an attack from the enemy, I prayed for restoration.
Friday and Saturday passed, and each time I checked, my Internet banking application showed that the $900+ transactions were still indicated as “pending.” On Sunday evening, I saw the payments go through, and the money was deducted from my account. I was so dismayed, but I kept praying. Praise the Lord that by Tuesday, all of the money was reimbursed to me.
This was not the end. Praise God that He is so good. One month later, I received a salary bonus. Not only that, but the Lord also blessed me with a salary increase. It was so amazing!
Like Pastor Prince often shares, when the enemy attacks, sometimes it hits where the blessings will come later. I’m so grateful that I’m in New Creation Church and for the teachings we receive. I’m so grateful to Jesus for His comforting presence during times of difficulty and for His love and blessings in my life. Praise the Lord!
