Seven years ago, the Lord Jesus delivered me from nicotine addiction.

I had been smoking for many years since I was a teenager. I tried to quit several times but couldn’t. I had been listening to Pastor Prince and heard him preaching a sermon on confessing that I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I began to do that, even while I was smoking cigarettes. Nothing happened right away, but I continued to make the confessions.

One night, I bought a brand-new pack of cigarettes with the intention of smoking. I smoked one cigarette from the pack before falling asleep. When I woke up the next morning, as soon as I opened my eyes, I knew I was free from cigarettes. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that God had delivered me from nicotine addiction. The first words out of my mouth were, “I don’t smoke anymore.”

The new pack of cigarettes sat on my headboard for months, and I never touched them. Eventually, I threw them in the trash.

This was not a fluke. It was real! I was set free! From that day on, I have not smoked a cigarette, I have not craved a cigarette, and I have not even thought about a cigarette at all. I have never had nicotine withdrawals. It is as if I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life! I am totally free from nicotine addiction because I believed and confessed that I am the righteousness of God in Christ.
