Some years ago, I applied for a credit card and soon became addicted to spending money. I was young and naïve and kept thinking I could repay the money to the bank later. I missed my payments and the interest kept rising to over S$10,000 dollars—an amount I couldn’t even think of repaying.

A year later, I had some crucial financial and family difficulties that required me to move out of my home and rent another unit elsewhere. Thereafter, bills began to pile up as I had to take care of my rent and other loans. I was living from paycheck to paycheck.

Even though I grew up in a Christian family, I never really knew how much Jesus loves me. But during this difficult period, I encountered and fell in love with my Savior, Jesus, all over again.

Then, early this year, I received a letter from the bank informing me that my final repayable loan amounting to S$50,000 was due. I knew there was no way I could pay the amount and cried out to the Lord.

On that Sunday, Pastor Prince spoke over those who had financial difficulties and prayed for our debts to be cancelled. I knew the word was for me. I called the bank the following week and told the Lord to guide me on what to say and committed the call into His hands.

Within a week, I received news that the bank had written off 80 percent of the total loan amount due! I thought I had received the wrong letter so I called the bank to check if this was true. They confirmed it and said this has never happened before. The case officer called me “lucky.” I knew it was the Lord who made this happen.

Thank you, Pastor Prince, for always having an inclined ear to hear the Lord’s word for the people. And thank You, God, for Your grace, mercy, and love for me!
