Experiencing God’s Peace and Protection While Caring for COVID-19 Patients

I am a nurse at a rehabilitation center for elderly patients. The year 2020 was very painful as several of my patients passed away from COVID-19. I became discouraged and started experiencing negative thoughts, anxiety, and even panic attacks.

But the Lord is so good as He had led me to get Pastor Prince’s book Live the Let-Go Life 6 months earlier, before I even needed it. That book helped me so much as I read it during this difficult time. By the time I finished the first chapter, I began to experience Jesus’ shalom-peace like never before. I even got 3 more copies of the book for my coworkers, who were also struggling with anxiety.

I thank the Lord I have been supernaturally protected from COVID-19 despite being exposed to it more than a 100 times over the past 2 years. My wife, who works with me as a nursing assistant, tested positive for COVID-19 in 2020. I took care of her every day while she was sick. I hung up Psalm 91 on the fridge during this time. The Lord didn’t allow me or any of the 6 other people in our house to get sick.

At the beginning of 2021, I prayed daily that the Lord would not only continue to protect me but also the patients in my unit. I partook of the holy Communion daily and declared Psalm 91 over my patients. There were multiple outbreaks in my rehab center in 2021 among patients and coworkers, but I am so blessed to say there was only one COVID-positive patient in my unit that whole year! Nothing is impossible for our Abba Father. I have also been so amazed that the majority of my coworkers are believers. We talk daily about the Lord and declare protection over our facility and families.

Last month, my wife and I were awarded an all-expense paid vacation to Hawaii by my rehab facility. My wife and I are so excited. I know it is truly the favor of God. I am so grateful for all the blessings and protection the Lord has provided. I know I am highly favored because of Jesus’ finished work.
