Healed of Chronic Pain After Receiving Prayer in Church
More than 7 years ago, I was standing by my car when a truck hit my car and caused me to be thrown about 10 to 12 feet. I was knocked unconscious and suffered multiple injuries, including a broken leg, which left me in a wheelchair for several months.
I was in a lot of pain but tried to accept it as part of my life. I did not want to, because I wanted to believe, like Pastor Prince says, that “youth is being renewed in my body.” But there were days when the pain was too much for me to manage. I was beginning to isolate myself and become increasingly sad. I could not sit, stand, or move without some level of pain.
Then, to make it even worse, several months ago, my job mandated that all employees report to the office. The commute of nearly 2 hours, the office environment, poor ergonomics, and a work schedule completely exacerbated my symptoms. The pain became a constant, 24/7 experience. I was in tears all the time and was becoming a very grumpy person.
I decided to go to the doctor again to get some MRIs to see exactly what was wrong with my body. I discovered that the accident caused my hips to become uneven laterally, and one hip protruded more than the other. I never knew this.
Then, one Sunday, the local pastor at GRC was preaching. At the end of his message, he began to pray for healing and started to call out different infirmities. I was ready to receive healing. Then it happened. He called out hip issues, and I immediately received it. I felt a warm flow from my head to my feet. It was like being wrapped in a hug from the Lord. I knew at that moment that my days of pain and sadness were over, and they are.
Sure, the devil comes at me from time to time with a jab of pain, but I confess aloud, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and I am healed.” I also get up and start to move around. And I have seen how the combination of moving my body and speaking causes the devil to retreat.
Thank you to the pastors and team at GRC for being a living example, not just for me, but for everyone.
