Healed of Eye Injury After Prayer
I hit the left side of my face and head against a car. It was very painful. I applied ice to minimize any bruising or swelling.
Three days later, I began to see flashes of light in my left eye, and the bone at the side of my left eye felt very painful. My doctor sent me to a retina specialist, who discovered a tear in my eye. He performed a laser procedure and recommended I get an X-ray of the eye bone and a CAT scan to see if I had damaged the eye or suffered a concussion.
I experienced strange sensations in my eyes and began to feel unbalanced. I went for prayer on Sunday after the church service. During this time, I recited Psalm 91 daily, partook of the Holy Communion, and believed for healing. However, as my symptoms grew worse, it was hard to stop being afraid.
Jesus highlighted Galatians 2:20 to me: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
I prayed and told Jesus my faith wasn’t strong enough to believe I was already healed when I was feeling so bad. But I was trusting His faith to be strong enough. That gave me peace. Just before I went in for the scan later in the week, I asked for prayer, standing on God’s Word that my healing was already accomplished.
While waiting in the reception room, I sat and felt Jesus’ presence. Our pastor at GRC had preached about how Jesus’ presence brings healing. As I sat feeling His love for me, I felt a gentle wave sweeping across the left side of my head. Just after this finished, I was called in for my eye and head CAT scan. I went in rejoicing because I was sure Jesus had healed me.
After that, the strange feelings and lack of balance did not return. The scans showed that my eye orbit and brain were normal. Jesus has healed me, and I am so thankful He has restored me and shown me such love.
