Baby Girl Healthy After High-Risk Pregnancy
Last July, I reached out for prayers for my beloved daughter Andrea, who had endured the heartbreak of 2 miscarriages. As she began meeting with a fertility specialist, Pastor Prince’s prayer in his sermon, “Own Your Calling and Portion,” for women struggling to conceive resonated deeply with me. I received that prayer for Andrea, and miraculously, she became pregnant a week later.
But fear gripped her heart, and she halted all testing with the specialist, unsure of how to feel. I reassured her of Jesus’ promise of wholeness and healing, and that we could stand on this truth through the Holy Communion. We began receiving the Communion together via video calls as she was residing in the United States. Each month, as she attended her doctor’s appointments, fear tried to overwhelm her, but I continued to speak life into her, and gradually, she grew more confident.
Andrea faced many uncomfortable symptoms and severe pre-eclampsia toward the end of her pregnancy. She was admitted to the emergency room on February 5, 2025, at almost 34 weeks of her pregnancy. The doctors worked tirelessly to stabilize her, and she underwent a C-section. Baby Aria Rose was born at thirty-four weeks, weighing 6.2 lbs, and was placed in an incubator due to breathing issues.
Andrea’s blood pressure remained dangerously high, and the doctors warned that the baby might need at least 4 weeks in the incubator, meaning they could not take her home. I prayed fervently for them both, and thanks to modern technology, my daughter gave me access to see my precious granddaughter in her incubator at the hospital. I prayed over her, anointing the screen with oil. I also partook of the Holy Communion on her behalf, asking that every organ in her body be made whole so she could be home with her parents soon.
Andrea was discharged 3 days after the C-section but was readmitted due to high blood pressure. She spent more days close to her baby but was discharged again without her baby. As we continued to pray, baby Aria responded well, and we held on to hope that she would be home soon.
Aria Rose was discharged 2 weeks later, completely healthy. Andrea’s blood pressure normalized, and she could stop taking medication. Today, Aria is thriving. At 4 months old, she now weighs 19.2 lbs and shows no sign of any delay. Praise Jesus!
Thank you, Pastor Prince, for all your teachings that have led me to believe right and to teach my children the same. Thank you also to all the partners who have been praying for us throughout this journey.
