Son Free from Recurring Mouth Ulcers and Disease Fears
My 7-year-old son had recurring mouth ulcers. We went to see a doctor, and we were sent to do a blood test, which showed that his iron was critically low. He was prescribed some iron supplements, which he took for about 2 months. But when the medication finished, the mouth ulcers came back even worse. This got me really worried.
We went to the doctor again, and we were sent to do some more blood tests to find out if there was any underlying condition causing this iron deficiency. He had tests done for thyroid, coeliac disease, diabetes, and liver function.
All of a sudden, I was facing the prospect of my 7-year-old boy potentially being diagnosed with one of these diseases. During the period between the date of the blood test and when the results came out, I felt gripped by fear of the unknown, found it almost impossible to shake off the feeling.
During the waiting period, I always felt bad and disappointed with myself when I let the fear of the unknown overwhelm me so much, causing me sleepless nights. But I was so encouraged when I saw that Jesus was not disappointed with the disciples for being afraid, but He had compassion on them. I felt encouraged to keep on trusting and hoping in the finished work of Jesus and partaking regularly of the Holy Communion with my son before and after the blood test.
Praise be to God that the blood test results came back with none of the suspected diseases found in his blood, and he hasn’t had another episode of mouth ulcers. I am so grateful to this ministry for bringing the grace and healing power of our Lord Jesus right into our home.
